The weeks have flown by and with each month that passes I think of the need to complete a "family update", but it has simply never happened. So now the months of March to May are compiled into a "spring update"! It has been busy for several months for our entire family. Pressing through the rest of the winter on the farm, a good deal of traveling, visits from family, and birthdays; each month brought challenges and blessings.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I will leave it to this long post of pictures to relate the story of our spring season.
In early March I traveled with friends from church to a conference in Wisconsin. |
Enjoying a coffee with a friend before the evening session. |
The following week, I flew to North Carolina to spend a long weekend with Emma and Stephen. |
Baby clothes shopping! Livin' the auntie life! |
I took some pregnancy announcement pictures for Emma and Stephen while I was in town. |
Taking a walk on the farm and having a visit with Belle, who refused to be photogenic, despite my efforts for cooperation. |
Headed off for an afternoon working heifers. Most of us earned a lovely coat of sunburn to prove it! |
I tagged along with Caden while he went firearm shopping and he wanted me to have a try at the range. It would not be hard to guess which of us was the better shot. =) |
For his birthday, Caden asked a USDA employee, an expert gunman, and a longtime friend to come to the farm to teach gun safety class and practice target shooting. We had such fun! |
Here are all the granddaughters, except Emma, with Grandma on Mother's Day. |
We welcomed two English Shepherd Elkhound puppies to the crew! |
Emma and Stephen made a trip up to Kentucky to spend several days with us. All of us sisters were able to go out and have some sweet shopping at Hobby Lobby. |
